„FIDELIO” closes Solidarity of Arts festival in Gdańsk

Beethoven’s opera „Fidelio” has been chosen for the grand finale of the Solidarity of Arts Festival. It was not a typical concert performance. The music was entwined with the memories from a Syrian jail of one of the musicians of the Expat Philharmonic Orchestra who was playing; and the testimony of a Tunisian poet from the early 20th century, held in a German POW camp for Moslems.

Daniel Magdal (Florestan), Barbara Krieger – Leonora (Fidelio), Daniel Kotliński – Rocco, Narine Yeghiyan (Marzeline), Tomasz Konieczny / Wiktor Kowalski (Don Pizarro), Bassem Alkhouri (Jaquino), Zak Kariithi (Don Fernando), Julien Salemkour (conductor), Baltic Opera Chorus.
